Friday, December 26, 2008
Depart the US via Austrian Airlines to Vienna.

Saturday, December 27, 2008
Arrival in Vienna. Transfer to the Hotel Imperial, the internationally famous residence in Vienna for Heads of State and European royalty. This majestic hotel, the finest in Vienna, was once a prince’s palace, built in 1869 for the Duke of Wurttemberg. Completely renovated and beautifully decorated, it offers an unparalleled atmosphere of noble elegance.

This evening will feature a welcome cocktail party and dinner in the hotel’s gourmet restaurant “Imperial.”

Sunday, December 28, 2008
This morning we will listen to the famous Vienna Boys Choir during a church service in the Imperial Chapel. Afterwards, we will visit the museum that houses the crown jewels of the Hapsburg Empire and the private chambers of Empress Elizabeth. Lunch will be served at Café Central in the Palais Ferstl.

This evening we will attend a performance at the Opera House, followed by dinner at the renowned Sacher Hotel.

Monday, December 29, 2008
Full day sightseeing tour of Vienna and surroundings: The Hofburg, home of the Imperial family, the Parliament, City Hall and other treasured Viennese landmarks. After lunch we will visit Schonbrunn Castle.

In the afternoon we are invited to “high tea” and waltzing lessons at the hotel. In the evening we will go by bus to a wine village outside of Vienna where we will enjoy a “Heurigen,” a dinner of local specialties and charming entertainment.

Tuesday, December 30, 2008
This morning we will enjoy a visit to Belvedere Castle with its superb Klimt paintings, and the Liechtenstein Palace with its magnificent private art collection of the old masters. In the afternoon, we are invited to “high tea” and waltzing lessons at the hotel.

Our evening will be spent at the magnificent Palais Coburg, and will begin with a cocktail reception at the amazing Roman wine cellar (said to be the most spectacular in Europe, with over 65,000 bottles!), followed by a most elegant dinner in the palace’s restaurant.

Wednesday, December 31, 2008
This morning we will attend a performance of the famous Lippizaner horses in the special performance hall in the Imperial Palace, a very memorable treat! The rest of the day is free to prepare for the Ball, the highlight of our trip (ladies should wear long dresses or gowns, gentlemen black tie). The Imperial Palace is impressively adorned for this extraordinary festive occasion.

A special section of the Grand Festival Hall is reserved for us (the very best seats!) where we will enjoy a gala dinner. We will join the other elegant guests for entertainment and marvelous music for dancing in your choice of several glamorous ballrooms. It will be an experience you will never forget!!

Thursday, January 1, 2009
At 11.00 a.m. we will attend a New Year’s Day concert at the Konzerthaus, a truly delightful tradition. Following the concert, we will return to the Hotel Imperial for its famous New Year’s Day brunch, which is attended by dignitaries from all over the world.

This evening will feature a gala farewell cocktail reception.
